Hi! I am Yao, nice to meet you!

I am currently a Ph.D. student at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), working in the group of Human-Centered Technologies for Learning led by Prof. Dr. Enkelejda Kasneci. Before this, I pursued my Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Tübingen from 2019 to 2023. I received my master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from TUM in 2019. Additionally, I hold dual B.Eng. degrees in Mechatronics from Tongji University in Shanghai and Munich University of Applied Sciences in 2016.

My research interests lie in building human-centered AI models that can capture human intelligence, understand human needs, and provide explanations. I focus on utilizing explainable AI (XAI) techniques to augment the interpretability, trustworthiness, and user-friendliness of AI systems for end-users. My overarching research goal is to design models that facilitate efficient and safe human-AI collaboration.
